Collaborator Dr. Sue Gu at UCDenver was the first author of a publication in Pulmonary Circulation on the role of right ventricle macrophages in pulmonary hypertension. We found an increase in a population of interstitital RV macrophages, and clodronate treatment to deplete monocytes/macrophages caused a change in the extracellular matrix which correlated with an improvement in RV function.
